Biography
Dr. Robert Shawhan is a Board Certified physician of the American Board of Surgery and a member of several professional societies including the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Shawhan received his Bachelor of Science from Salisbury University and his Doctor of Medicine from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He went on to complete his General Surgery Residency and Internship at Madigan Army Medica Center in Tacoma, Washington. Prior to coming to Memorial Hospital of Converse County, Dr. Shawhan served as the General Surgery Clinic Chief at Madigan Army Medical Center. Prior to that, he served as a Trauma Surgeon in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Dr. Shawhan sees patients in Douglas and Casper for general, robotics, and bariatric surgeries.
